How do you keep in touch
with your clients?
Frequently asked questions:
Q: What applications can I use to make E-Newsletters?
A: You may use web-based applications like Constant
Contact™, Topica™, IMN™(IMakeNews) or even Outlook™. You could use
Dreamweaver™, FrontPage™ or another HTML editor.
Q: How can I learn how to do this? Can I do it myself?
A: Most applications are easy to use and can be learned in
just a couple of hours. Since your time is important to you (and
probably very limited). We recommend that you come to one of our
in-person classes to get the tools you need.
Q: Where can I get content for my E-Newsletter?
A: You can create your own content, hire a free-lance
writer, visit a "share-ware" site, partner with complementary
businesses, and collaborate with an E-Newsletter specialist.
Q: Is creating an E-Newsletter different from creating a
printed piece?
A: Is reading a book in print the same as reading a book
online? The content may be similar, but it needs to be presented in a
way that respects the reader and medium.
Q: To whom should I send our E-Newsletter?
A: Prospects, customers and partners.
Q: Can I send one E-Newsletter to everyone on my list?
A: You can, but we recommend sending them in a more
particular way. For example, for our client in Boston, we have one
E-Newsletter for prospects with a special one-time offer. We created
another E-Newsletter for existing customers to tell them about a new
service. Another client has one list for people who want to know about
business events in Massachusetts and a different list for events in New
Hampshire.
Q: How can I grow my mailing list?
A: Web site subscription forms, free offers, direct mail
with an incentive, calling campaign, customer purchases, prospecting.
Q: What kind of content should I include in my E-Newsletter?
A: One good rule of thumb is roughly 80% educational and 20%
contact info/sales promotions.
Q: How do I find out more about E-Newsletter basics and how
to get started?
A: Attend our monthly free
teleclass on e-newsletters (pre-registration is required).
This
is great. You did a really amazing job on our newsletter. Thank you
Christine!
